The town of Brookline, a culturally diverse community of 60,000 surrounded on three sides by Boston, is accepting applications for the Labor and Employee Relations Specialist. Under the Human Resources Director, this position performs complex administrative and professional work administering human resources functions. Develops, interprets, and recommends labor and employee relations goals and objectives, policies and procedures and courses of action. Oversees all state Civil Service functions. Tracks and monitors grievance process. Works closely with Labor and Employment Counsel to maintain a positive labor relations environment. Keeps abreast with town policies and practices that relate to labor relations and collective bargaining agreements and participants in negation strategy sessions. Oversees criminal/sexual offender record (CORI/SORI) program.

Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, public administration, business administration or closely related field or equivalent combination of training and experience. Three to five years of professional or administrative human resources experience of which two years involve labor relations work, preferably in the public sector.
