Mattapoisett, MA (6,300 pop.), is seeking a Library Director to provide executive leadership in the strategic delivery of Mattapoisett’s network of library services and programming tailored to serve the needs of the community’s residents and all library patrons. The next Library Director will lead the development of services designed to promote lifelong learning, encourage curiosity, and build community.
Mattapoisett is a true New England seaside port located in southeastern Massachusetts, approximately 60 miles south of Boston. The Mattapoisett Free Public Library is considered the heart of the community and is strongly supported by residents and local officials. Preferred candidates will have experience working in a library, preferably in a similar-sized community, as well as being skilled in leadership, financial management, and communication. Candidates should enjoy working with the public, have a strong sense of community and excellent listening skills. Candidates should have a proven record of collaborative leadership and be highly organized, innovative, team-oriented, and skilled at working with other town departments, boards, peers, volunteers, and stakeholders.
The successful candidate will receive an attractive compensation package including health and retirement plans and an annual salary of $80K+/-, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
