The town of Plymouth seeks qualified applicants for the position of Master Mechanic, with the Dept. of Public Works, Maintenance Division.
Highly skilled maintenance and repair work on automotive and other power-driven equipment; and all other related work as required. Performs mechanical and electrical repair and overhaul of mobile or stationary equipment; disassembles and rebuilds gasoline and diesel engines, replaces clutches and transmissions, tunes engines, adjusts and replaces brakes and all associated work in the maintenance on vehicles. Performs vehicle inspections, may contact other divisions for scheduled repairs or preventative maintenance. Uses and supervises the use of computer diagnostic equipment, electronically controlled mechanic systems and other maintenance technology.
High school graduate with two years of training in technical school or on the job training, in the maintenance and repair of automotive equipment.
Qualifications: Valid Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles Class A driver’s license is required. Valid Massachusetts Department of Public Safety Hoisting Engineer’s license with Restriction 2A.
