Hiring Hourly Rate Range:  $32.7980 – $35.2934

­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­The Town of Belmont is currently seeking candidates for a full-time Mechanic within the department of Public Works. This exciting opportunity will enable the successful professional candidate to join a dedicated team that provides high quality services to the community of Belmont!

This position is responsible for maintenance and repairs on ALL TYPES of town vehicles and equipment! ALSO may design, build and fabricate using torches, wire feed welders, and other types of welding to repair vehicles and equipment; while maintaining a safe work environment.  Additionally, this position requires the response to and availability to respond to emergency road repair calls.

• Associate degree in automotive technician with three to five years mechanic experience or equivalent.
• Massachusetts Commercial driver’s license Class B with airbrake and tank vehicles endorsements
• Division of Professional Licensure Hoisting Engineer License Class HE-2B.
• Or the ability and commitment to obtain with six months of employment.

Dull-time, 40 hours, requiring candidates to be available to work during the department’s hours. Fully Benefitted!
