The town of Brookline is seeking a paralegal/legal assistant to perform administrative functions and provide legal support to in-house attorneys in the Legal Department under the supervision of the Senior Paralegal. The incumbent will draft legal documents and assist counsel with legal research, filings, document review, organization and analysis, and related work as required and/or assigned. Additional general administrative duties include: filing; answering phones; interacting with other town departments, the public, state agencies and other local agencies; and operating standard office equipment.
An associate’s degree with paralegal certification and/or legal experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience in municipal law office is preferred. Foreclosure, bankruptcy, and tax lien experience is helpful. Ability to maintain confidential information is required, along with a proficiency in MS Office products, including Excel and Word. Starting salary $1,022.36 per week, plus generous benefits.
