The Wellesley Department of Public Works, Park and Tree Division, is currently seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker. Job duties include constructing, maintaining and repairing public properties and facilities, manually digging and backfilling excavations and handling heavy materials on maintenance and construction projects using manual lifting techniques and power equipment. Other duties include semi-skilled building and construction work, landscape and athletic field maintenance and manual labor as needed. The successful candidate will be able to perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment and can understand and follow oral and written instructions. Participation in the Town’s snow and ice control program and availability for stand-by, emergency and weekend duties as needed is required. Requires one to three years’ experience in maintaining athletic fields, park land and/or other types of grounds work and possession of both a valid Class D Driver’s License and a valid Massachusetts Department of Safety Hoisting Engineer’s License Classes 1C, 2C and 4G. The hourly range for this position is $18.32 – $23.66.
