The town of Southbridge seeks qualified candidates for the position of Part-time Code Enforcement/Local Building Inspector. The Code Enforcement/Local Building Inspector performs technical work related to the enforcement of the state building code with emphasis on 780 CMR 110 annual inspections; the local Zoning Codes; and interpretations and enforcement activities in the town; performs field inspections and investigations of violations and checks compliance with approved plans. This is a grant funded position.
Position is 18 hours per week. Salary begins at $24.63 per hour. Position is not benefit eligible
Associate’s degree and five to seven years’ prior experience preferable in the construction trades; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience; Certification as a Local Inspector pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws or qualified to sit for the Massachusetts Local Inspector tests. Class D Driver’s License required.
