TOWN OF WELLESLEY
Planning Department seeks qualified candidates for a 17.5 hours/week Planner. Department is responsible for work related to long-range and current planning, and administering zoning and land use regulations. Department staff provide service directly to the Planning Board, Design Review Board, Historic District Commission, Historical Commission, Denton Road Neighborhood District Commission, and work with other town boards on related work.
Selected candidate is responsible for various tasks for which the Department is responsible. Responsibilities evolve over time to meet Department’s and serviced boards’ demands. Attendance at one evening meeting/week may be necessary.
Requires: B.S. in planning, related field or equivalent. Clear verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of preservation tenets and practices. Abilities to interact with the public, effectively manage time, and prioritize workflow. Preferred: one year of municipal planning experience or equivalent and working knowledge of applicable municipal land use laws. Anticipated hiring range is $27.00 to $32.00/hour and the position is not benefits eligible.
