The town of Plymouth seeks qualified applicants for the contract position of Part-time Temporary Public Health Nurse.

Provides initial investigation and disease surveillance of newly identified cases through case management and contact tracing with frequent follow-up with those individuals. Collaborates with health care providers, school officials, community partners/health resources to provide support services for those in isolation or quarantine. Educates the Plymouth community in effective public health practices to ensure communicable disease prevention and control. Documents disease surveillance activities utilizing electronic medical records systems and the MA statewide MAVEN infections disease surveillance system.

Participates in emergency preparedness meetings/planning for vaccination site set-up and RN staffing; assists with administration of COVID-19 vaccine. Joins weekly State and Local Department of Public Health conference calls and webinars. As needed, attends town of Plymouth Board of Health meetings with the Director of Public Health for reports and discussion. Night and weekend work may be required. Work from home unless needed for in-person requirements.  Funded from CARES Act and subject to provisions therein.

Qualifications: Current R.N. license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. BSN from an accredited School of Nursing and two to three years’ experience (preferred). Ability to work independently within designated Public Health program. Clinical experience in public health nursing, school health, family practice, community health, or pediatrics preferred.
