Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
The Treasurer is responsible for the accurate administration of the Western Massachusetts Emergency Communications District’s financial and treasury operations.
This includes processing daily financial transactions, reconciling all cash and investment accounts, maintaining the general ledger, supporting payroll processing, preparing monthly and year-end financial reports, and ensuring compliance with Massachusetts municipal finance laws, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and Governmental Accounting Standards Board requirements.
The Treasurer ensures the integrity of WESTCOMM’s financial systems, supports internal and external audits, manages grants and restricted funds, and provides financial analysis to assist leadership in decision-making. Work involves confidential
financial information, strict adherence to Massachusetts General Laws, and a commitment to high-quality internal and external customer service.
Hours & Compensation
● 18.00 hours per week (part-time, non-benefited unless otherwise designated).
● Starting salary range: $28,080.00 – $32,675.76 annually depending on
qualifications and experience.
o Approximate hourly equivalent: $30.00 – $34.91/hour.
