Payroll Administrator

The town of Westford is seeking a highly qualified, motivated, team oriented, and professional applicants for the Payroll Administrator position to perform the weekly in-house payroll functions in a busy and fast paced environment.  This position works under the direct supervision of the Town Accountant and is a full-time 37.5 hours/week benefited position.

This position is responsible for the coordination, reconciliation, data entry/payroll processing, and administration of all town payroll functions, including auxiliary functions.  This position also provides technical support to the Town Accountant, as needed.  Applicants must have the ability to demonstrate three to five years’ experience in payroll administration.  It is essential that this position maintain confidentiality, follow established payroll policies, ability to interpret policies and collective bargaining contracts, knowledge of payroll laws in accordance with the IRS and pension laws, must be able to become highly proficient with TYLER/MUNIS payroll software.

A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred with recent payroll experience essential. Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet all in house weekly payroll deadlines, including projects and assignments.  Experience with Munis Human Resources/Payroll is preferred.  Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.  Starting salary up to $75,000 depending on qualifications and experience.  This position is non-union and is eligible for all town benefits. Position will remain open until filled.
