The town of Berlin seeks qualified candidates for the full-time benefited position of Police Chief. The Police Chief reports to the Town Administrator and supervises 9 full-time police officers, part-time officers, traffic controllers, an animal control officer, and public safety administrative assistant.
Minimum requirements of seven to 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a municipal police department, of which at least three years are in a supervisory position; master’s degree in criminal justice or related field; must be a Massachusetts certified police officer and meet standards as dictated by the Massachusetts Police Training Committee.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assuring the timely training and credentialing of officers and the department in accordance with all specified laws and regulations within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This is an FLSA exempt position. Salary is negotiable, DOQE.
