The town of Plainville, MA seeks qualified and experienced applicants for the Principal Assessor position. The Principal Assessor functions as a member of the Senior Management Team and has direct responsibility for the professional, administrative and supervisory work related to the valuation of all residential, industrial, commercial real estate and personal property within the town, in accordance with the Department of Revenue regulations, related Massachusetts General Laws, and town bylaws. The Principal Assessor provides time-sensitive financial information, analysis and consultation to the Boards of Assessors, Town Administrator and other town officials. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of MA laws relating to municipal property assessment for tax purposes, computerized appraisal systems, hold a Massachusetts Accredited Assessor certificate in municipal assessing, possess a bachelor’s degree with over five years of experience, preferably in a municipal setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary range for FY21 is $57,304– $88,700 depending on experience. The town of Plainville offers a comprehensive benefits package.
