Principal Assessor: The town of Ware seeks an experienced Principal Assessor to ensure requirements for assessing real and personal property are met. Reporting to the Board of Assessors, this position is responsible for all types of real and personal property appraisals. This position is also charged with the management of revaluations of property; and for the assurance of state regulations compliance regarding proper assessment practices, and performs other duties as required or as dictated by responsibilities.
The qualified applicant will have comprehensive knowledge of real property appraisal principles and practices, laws, and regulations and of building and land values; and skill in making real property appraisals. Bachelor’s degree in real estate, economics, finance, business or public administration, five years of related experience, supervisory experience, and three years’ experience in an Assessing office OR; a combination of education and experience in municipal assessing..
