PROGRAMS MANAGER/ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
TOWN OF WELLESLEY
Under the general guidance of the Director of Public Works, the Programs Manager/Assistant Director directs and coordinates the fiscal planning, programming, budgeting and evaluating of all Department of Public Works (DPW) programs to ensure the effective management of DPW resources and services to the town; manages the two Public Works utility enterprise funds (Water and Sewer); manages the generation of revenues by the sale of recyclables from the Recycling and Disposal Facility; manages the Fleet and Fuel Internal Service Funds; and supervises the Department’s Management Services Division staff. The incumbent assists the Director of Public Works in all aspects of the management of the Department and serves as the Acting Director in the Director’s Absence.
Requirements: B.S. degree in management, business, finance or related field; a minimum of five years experience in the areas of business administration, financial management, budget/accounting or related experience or equivalent; experience in the preparation and management of operating and capital budgets and in short- and long-term financial management; a minimum of three years of supervisory experience; demonstrated written and oral communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred: Graduate degree in management, business, finance, accounting or related field; experience in the operation and management of a municipal DPW; and management experience with a unionized workforce.
The anticipated hiring range is $93,240 – $113,600 DOQ with an excellent benefit package (includes health and dental insurance, vacation, sick time, retirement plan, etc.).
