The town of Watertown seeks an individual who will be responsible for the supervision of projects, project planning and management, and inspection of town related infrastructure and assets. Working under the general direction of the Superintendent of Public Works and Town Engineer, the position will assist in conducting studies of engineering projects and help prepare plans for public improvements such as streets and sidewalks; review plans, maps, specifications, cost estimates and other work; performs field inspections of public works and private development construction projects, test soils and materials, provides technical assistance to the Water/Sewer and Highway Divisions, town engineering consultants and other departments.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Four year degree in civil engineering or related field and a minimum of four years of experience in public works construction and maintenance. Must possess an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate or be a Registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Certification as a Massachusetts Licensed Soil Evaluator is preferred. Must possess valid Massachusetts Driver’s License and have a good driving record.
Starting Range: DQE, plus excellent benefits
