Job Description

The Massachusetts School Building Authority is a quasi-independent government authority created to reform the process of funding capital improvement projects in the Commonwealth’s public schools. We partner with Massachusetts communities to support the design and construction of educationally appropriate, flexible, sustainable, and cost-effective public school facilities.

Construction Administration

The CA team manages MSBA-funded capital projects from design development through bidding, contract award, construction, commissioning, and project close-out.

The Project Managers work with public school districts and consultants as part of a MSBA team to ensure conformance with MSBA’s policies, agreements, and practices for major projects and repair projects through design development, construction and final audit. The Project Managers will also review district submittals that establish grants for the repair program.

Feasibility Schematic Design

The FSD Project Managers conduct independent technical review of design and construction documents and support the feasibility and schematic design activities of projects invited into the MSBA’s grant program.

The FSD team primarily supports the efforts associated with working directly with public school districts and professional consultants to ensure conformance with MSBA’s policies, agreements, and practices and grant recommendations for Core Program projects seeking approval by the MSBA’s Board of Directors.
