PUBLIC HEALTH COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

The city of Worcester seeks applicants for the position of Public Health Communications Specialist to assist the Division of Public Health with external and internal communications and marketing objectives. This position is responsible for promoting public health prevention messaging via various social media platforms, drafting talking points and creating a monthly newsletter for residents, community based organizations, etc., in the city of Worcester and members of the Central MA Regional Public Health Alliance. This position will work closely with the City Manager’s public relations team on media inquiries.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, english, journalism, marketing, or related discipline.
  • Two years of experience in external communications or related communications role.
  • Prior experience with copywriting, proofreading, and editing.
  • Prior experience with graphic design, photo, and video editing software.
  • Prior experience with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

SALARY: $59,859 – $78,309 annually, full-time, excellent benefits package.
