The town of Lexington has reopened its search for a seasoned Public Health Director with recent experience as a local public health director or three or more years as a second-in-command. Under the general direction of the Assistant Town Manager for Development, this full-time (35 hours/week) position is responsible for developing, managing and assessing comprehensive Environmental Health, Community Health and Public Health Emergency Preparedness programs. Supervises 2.5 full-time equivalents as well as various vendors brought in for special projects. Qualified applicants will have a bachelor’s degree in public health, biology or chemistry and three to five years of experience in public health or environmental health administration, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Registration as an Environmental Health Specialist or Sanitarian (REHS/RS) preferred. Anticipated hiring range: $91,307 – $103,199 (Full salary range to $117,899).
