The town of Nantucket seeks qualified candidates for the position of Public Health Inspector. Under the administrative direction of the Public Health Director, or his or her designee, the Public Health Inspector performs a wide variety of functions related to the monitoring and reporting of septic inspections, enforcement of the state sanitary code, Massachusetts public health laws and local rules and regulations; and, promulgating pertinent regulations related to public health.
Associate degree in biology, sanitary, environmental health or related sciences with a minimum of two years of experience in a position of some administrative responsibility in public health-related program and/or certification as a Public Health Officer or Registered Sanitarian in the state of Massachusetts, with two years of experience in the public health or related field. Valid Class D Massachusetts motor vehicle operator’s license required at time of hire. Within a date to be determined, the following licenses and certifications should be obtained: Septic Inspector, Soil Evaluator, Title 5, Certified Pool Operator, and Serve Safe.
Union position; Full-time; Annual Salary $81,696 – $ 102,927.
