Public Health Nurse
The town of Weymouth is currently accepting applications for a full-time Public Health Nurse in the Health Department working Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; 35 hours per week.
Responsibilities include: Investigates, prevents and reports the spread of activities related to communicable diseases, including COVID. Arranges for medical and social referrals, and enforces isolation and quarantine requirements as necessary. Documents investigative data. Provides a wide variety of nursing services ranging from in-the-home, to clinics, schools and in the office, provides immunization and screening services. Promotes good health practices through public education. Oversees vaccine distribution program. Performs similar or related work as required, directed, or as situation dictates. Must be available for emergency response situations. To qualify, candidates must have graduated from an accredited registered nursing program, Bachelor’s of science degree preferred; three years of experience in general nursing and at least one year of experience in public health nursing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be a Registered Nurse by MA Board of Registration. The salary range for this position is $55,895.18 to $68,889.18.
