The Southborough Board of Health is currently seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Public Health Nurse. Pay rate is $85,000 – $97,000 annually, with a generous paid leave and benefit program.

The Nurse serves within the town’s Board of Health office, working with the Public Health Director, Inspectors and staff to maintain and promote health and wellness initiatives for the town. Focus areas include: disease surveillance, investigation and documentation per state code, participation in Emergency Preparedness & Response Planning, review of Day Camp documentation & Body Art Establishments, facilitates inquires relating to hygiene, immunizations and dispensing of medications, coordination and staffing of Immunization Clinics. Assists the Board of Health and staff with queries concerning epidemiology, food-borne illness outbreaks, viral disease outbreaks (i.e. COVID-19] contact tracing and methods to limit outbreaks and spread of communicable diseases. Must be familiar with HIPAA guidelines.

Successful applicant must be currently registered with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing and hold a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing. Seven to 10 years of experience in a variety of medical, surgical and outpatient settings. Public health or community health experience preferred. MAVEN and MIIS certification preferred. If not at time of hire, must be trained and certified immediately after hire. A valid driver’s license required.
