The Town of Needham seeks an energetic and engaged individual to fill the position of Public Information Officer (PIO). Reporting to the Town Manager, the PIO will direct the implementation of an integrated communications strategy for the Town, incorporating media broadcasts, written materials, and social media trends and applications. The PIO responds to media requests for information and facilitate media interviews with appropriate Town officials; identify Town projects and programs for positive media coverage potential. The Public Information Officer is a benefit-eligible part-time position (30 hours per week) funded for a two-year period, which may be extended should funding become available.
Must have a Bachelors’ Degree, minimum of 5 years of experience working with social networking and website administration, and familiarity with local government functions and operations. To apply send a cover letter and resume to HR@Needhamma.gov by July 26, 2019.
Annual Salary Range: $56,846 – $71,338
