Do you have a passion for helping public sector organizations fulfill their missions? The Edward J. Collins, Jr. Center for Public Management in the McCormack School of Policy and Global Studies at UMass Boston is dedicated to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of government, with a particular focus on local and state government. The Center provides a comprehensive set of services to the Commonwealth’s municipalities, school districts, regional governments, and state agencies, as well as clients in other states.
The Public Services Coordinator (PSC) role is central to the work of the Center. PSCs coordinate consulting projects in one or more of the practice areas within the Center. The Center is especially interested in candidates with backgrounds in municipal or school district finance (including financial forecasts, capital plans, and financial policies), municipal or school district HR (including classification and compensation, workforce development, and policy review), or municipal or school district operations. The Center welcomes applications from candidates with any relevant municipal, school district, or other public sector experience.
The PSC is a hybrid position, with occasional in-person staff meetings and on-site client meetings across the Commonwealth. As such, place of residence does not need to be near the UMass Boston campus.
