The town of Lexington seeks qualified applicants for the part-time evening non-benefited position of Recording Secretary for the Select Board. This position is responsible for attending Select Board meetings, taking meeting minutes according to the requirements of the Massachusetts Open Meeting Law and then generating draft and final meeting minutes remotely. Attendance is required at all Select Board meetings which are usually held on Monday evenings several times per month as well as additional meetings that may be scheduled as needed.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a high school diploma, and experience taking minutes according to the requirements of Massachusetts Open Meeting Law, or the equivalent, and one to three years of increasingly responsible administrative support. The Recording Secretary is expected to work independently in order to complete and revise meeting minutes, and to have the ability to utilize file sharing such as email, to share files with town staff. General office skills in typing and word processing, user knowledge of personal computers and Windows based software programs is required. Flat rate of $175 per meeting.
