Records Supervisor II
The town of Westford is seeking applicants for a full-time Records Supervisor II for the Building Department. Under the direction of the Building Commissioner and Inspectional Staff, performs routine to complex administrative duties as required for efficient business operations. Must have knowledge of town codes, zoning bylaws and Massachusetts State Building Codes. Responsibilities include assisting and coordinating the various functions of the Building Department, which is an integral part of the larger Land Use Management Department. Maintains and coordinates permit application and issuance processes with use of the permitting software. Directly assists and coordinates all project reviews undertaken by a multi-member inspectional staff and maintains all building records. Schedules and coordinates all inspections for Inspectional Staff. Provides customer service at the counter and telephones daily. Requires general assistance to answer questions and fulfill requests for information from other employees, the public, contractors, attorneys, developers, engineers, agency representatives, town boards, and commission members. Performs duties that require independent judgment and initiative with minimal supervision. Uses initiative and resourcefulness in continually analyzing the permitting process and recommending procedural and regulatory changes to improve the overall operational efficiencies of the Department. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of an associate’s degree with at least five years of relevant experience and a working knowledge of MUNIS and GIS. Above all else, the successful candidate will understand that the Building Department functions as a service-type business and therefore must have exceptional customer service skills. This is a fast-paced office environment and being able to multi-task is essential. Must have a valid MA driver’s license. The FY19 salary range is between $25.01 – $32.65/hour, dependent on qualifications.
