Recreation Coordinator

Job Description

The town of Reading is hiring Recreation Coordinator in the Recreation Division of the Community Services department.

Expected Hiring Range: $32.06-$34.38 per hour

General Summary

Under the direction of the Recreation Administrator, this position is responsible for developing, organizing and supervising a variety of recreational services including, but not limited to, special events, activities, youth sports, and programs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a closely related field; and
• Minimum of two to three years of related experience in recreation programming, preferably in a municipal recreation setting; or
• Any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience, with additional work experience substituting for the required education on a year for year basis.

Work Hours

This is a full-time position at 37.5 hours per week. Town Hall operating hours include 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; Tuesday 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Hours will vary to include department coverage and programs, as needed. Town Hall is closed on Fridays.
