The city of Fitchburg is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the position of Senior Accounting Clerk. Under the supervision and direction of the Treasurer/Tax Collector, the Senior Accounting Clerk is responsible to for a variety of office, financial, and revenue-related tasks, requiring strong customer service, organizational, and accounting skills. Strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and familiarity with accounting and revenue processing systems are essential for success in this role. Will also provide overall administrative support and maintain records relating to departmental matters. Additionally, this position shall assist in general office duties and perform related work as requested by the Treasurer/Tax Collector. The ideal candidate will have associate degree/certificate in business or related field and three or more years of full-time administrative support experience in general business environment or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position; The salary range for this union position $50,320 – $58,564.
