The town of Andover seeks applications for the position of Senior Assessor in the Assessment Division of the Finance Department. Under the direction of the Chief Assessor, the employee is responsible for administrative, technical, and supervisory work related to municipal tax assessment activities. Duties include assessing real and personal property, including those that are the subject of appeal; aiding in planning, managing, and directing the activities of the Assessing Division; and maintaining and updating the GIS Assessors Maps. Candidates must have thorough knowledge of annual mapping updates, personal property valuation and taxation, and the ability to perform field inspections. Municipal experience preferred.
Successful applicants will have an associate’s degree and five years’ experience in the valuation of property for tax purposes; or equivalent experience. Must have State Designation of MAA or the ability to attain it within two years of appointment. Must have valid driver’s license. Excellent benefits, 36.25 hours/week.
