The town of Southborough seeks a qualified individual for the full-time position of Senior IT Specialist.  The position reports to and works under the direction of the IT Manager.  Successful candidate will be able to identify, diagnose, analyze data and resolve problems for users regarding software and hardware, networking and infrastructure including cyber-security risk management and communicate solutions to end-users. The position requires superior customer service skills when working with department managers and town officials to identify their needs, as well as when consulting with vendors to understand the highest and best use of existing applications.  Other necessary skill sets include an ability to identify new applications or other appropriate resources that will contribute to the development of IT-related policy and strategy development to enhance services. Comprehension of technology-related project management across a wide spectrum of municipal government disciplines is highly desired.  Familiarity with deploying employee training and initiating changes that improve efficiency of all departments are a bonus.

Position requires a high school diploma / GED; a bachelor’s degree or higher is strongly preferred, as are relevant certifications. Five years or more of responsible experience in an information technology environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
