Senior Wastewater Treatment Operator

The city of Fitchburg is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the position of Senior Wastewater Treatment Operator. Under the supervision of the Plant Superintendent, the SWTO is responsible for shift operation and control of a complex and advanced wastewater treatment facility. General responsibilities are to direct and assist a number of operational assistants in the operation of advanced wastewater treatment processes to obtain targeted operating results and to maintain treatment plant compliance. The ideal candidate must possess a current and valid Massachusetts Grade VI Wastewater Operator license with at least five years of full-time, paid experience in a position of increased responsibility in the operation of a similarly sized municipal wastewater treatment plant, industrial wastewater treatment plant, or comparable and similar experience, and at least two years of which shall be in a supervisory role. The hourly range for this position is $30.17/hr – $40.79/hr.
