SENIOR CLERK II // Board of Selectmen Town of Stoughton

Wanted: Senior Clerk in the office of the Board of Selectmen. This is a full-time position with benefits requiring occasional flexible hours and attending night meetings. This position performs a variety of secretarial duties according to standard office procedures, which requires a degree of decision making, and comprehensive knowledge of departmental functions. Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: confidential secretarial functions for the Board of Selectmen including all correspondence for the Board; responsible for all BOS licensing and maintaining database of same, answering public inquiries directed to the Board; preparing meeting agendas and keeping records; scheduling and advertising public hearings; and performing additional duties as required by the Town Manager.
Qualifications: Associate’s degree or two years post-high school training in business, secretarial science, or related field; and three years general clerical and secretarial work experience; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to compose correspondence and to prepare, type, and proofread reports.
Preferred Qualifications: Municipal experience preferred. Excellent word processing and spreadsheet skills required. Experience with MUNIS systems preferred. All applicants must be able to pass a criminal background/CORI check and a pre-employment physical including drug testing.

Starting salary range: Grade 4 on the Town Wide Compensation Grid $40,231.00 – $42,275.00.
