The Senior Community Social Worker (SCSW) primary responsibilities are to provide needs assessments, outreach, short term counseling, crisis intervention, as well as referrals to social service agencies and mental health providers and resources. The SCSW provides supervision, coordination and support of the Wellesley Health Department social workers, and collaborates, supports and provides guidance to other town social workers. The SCSW evaluates, reports on and provides recommendations for enhancement of the town’s social and behavioral health services and resources. The incumbent will organize, implement and oversee an internship program in social work.
Minimum Requirements: a master’s degree in social work, a current Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) license, one to three years of supervisory experience, and five to seven years of experience in community social work. Also required are case management skills, experience in diverse settings, experience coordinating multidisciplinary meetings, plus organizational and multi-tasking abilities. Having your own vehicle and a valid driver’s license are a must. The salary range is between $59,930 and $90,830.
