Senior Transportation Planner
Performs field work, technical analysis, transportation project management, public education, and interdepartmental coordination around multimodal mobility planning, engineering, and urban design for the town of Arlington. Develops, advances, and delivers initiatives and projects in support of short- and long-range transportation and mobility goals. Candidates for this position should be highly motivated to ensure that public and private investment in Arlington supports the town’s goals for walkability, bikeability, and transit-accessibility. Candidate is responsible for program design, program management, and project delivery of activities associated with implementing the mobility goals outlined in the town’s Five-Year and Annual Plans under its federal Community Development Block Grant program and consistent with “ConnectArlington,” the town’s adopted transportation plan; and other vetted planning documents. Serves as staff to the Transportation Advisory Committee and Arlington Bicycle Advisory Committee, and coordinates with other departments, boards and commissions on larger town transportation projects, including the Department of Public Works and the Arlington Police Department.
