EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Position provides administrative and accounting support to the Assistant Town Accountant and Town Accountant; processes accounts payable, maintains master vendor database and tax exempt documents, resolves inquiries, reconciles miscellaneous receipts to bank deposit reports; provides periodic and special reports to department heads, such as account and expenditure balances and employee leave accruals; enters a variety of data into accounting and payroll software system; ensures accuracy of payments including payroll, produces reports and informational documents as requested;

QUALIFICATIONS: A candidate for this position should have an associate’s degree or certificate in accounting or a finance related field; min. three years’ full-time accounting work experience in office of similar size and responsibility, municipal accounting experience preferred; payroll experience preferred; or equivalent combination of experience and education.

SALARY: Current Range: Step A $21.20/hr to Step E $27.18/hr

HOURS: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (one hour unpaid lunch)
