The town of Lunenburg seeks qualified applicants for the position of Staff Librarian with responsibilities in services for young adults. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Library Director with the development and implementation of library programs, readers advisory and services for patrons at the Library, collection development and management, providing reference and reader’s advisory services, planning young adult programs, attending meetings, as needed and supervising Library Pages, as needed.
The ideal candidate must love working with pre-teens and teens, have a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of library services, systems, and programs, and be a creative team player and active problem solver. Must possess excellent skills in customer service, supervisory, planning and organizing, and computers. Ability to multi-task and work independently.
Master’s degree in library science, or M.Ed. degree with library experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience withlLibrary systems (Evergreen) preferred.
This is a 30 hour per week, benefited position. Grade 6 AFSCME union position. Hiring range: $26.64/hr-$29.11/hr. Full pay range: $26.64/hr-$33.40/hr.
