SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
The town of Holbrook (pop. 11,500) is seeking a Superintendent of Public Works who supervises, plans, directs, and administers all aspects of the department, including water and sewer systems, street/sidewalk construction and maintenance, snow and ice removal operations, solid waste disposal, tree and parks maintenance, building maintenance, fleet maintenance, and stormwater management, along with other public works related duties. The job description calls for a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or other appropriate discipline being preferred, experience overseeing municipal public works and sewers is also required. The Superintendent must be able to perform all essential functions and duties identified in the job description, must have personnel management experience, and be familiar with the collective bargaining process as it pertains to public works employees. Responsibilities include, and are not limited to; setting goals and assessing performance, taking necessary action to improve Department’s efficiency and services provided. A competitive salary and excellent benefit package are provided for this position, and starting salary is commensurate with experience.
