The Town of Stow is seeking applicants for the position of Superintendent of Streets.  The Superintendent organizes, directs, and supervises the work of 10 full time employees and a number of as-needed subcontractors to comprehensively manage the tasks involved in the construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation, improvements, and preventive maintenance of the Town’s roadways, buildings, facilities, infrastructure, sidewalks, grounds and highway vehicles.  The Superintendent reports to the Town Administrator and is appointed by the Board of Selectmen.

A preferred candidate will possess a sufficient level of the following combination of qualifications and experience: 10 years of progressive management  experience in the public works industry; a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical training; 5 years managing the design and construction of significant infrastructure projects; basic surveying skills; a working knowledge of construction materials, processes, and techniques used in street construction, maintenance and repair; good organizational, personnel, and planning skills; working knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations; 3 years of progressive oversight control of snow and ice operations; strong interpersonal, public relations and communication skills; a valid Commercial Driver’s License, and preferably a Class C Hoisting Engineers License.

Salary range is $79,959 to $99,952.  Negotiated salary amount will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Stow offers a full range of employee benefits including an education incentive bonus.
