Manage the daily laboratory operations of City of Cambridge Water Department, which includes the supervision of the Water Quality Supervisors and Lab. Manage the operation and maintenance of ION Chromatography, ICPMS, pH/ISE meters, Conductance meter, Total Organic Carbon analyzer, Gas Chromatograph/Mass spectrometer, Autoclave, Steam Washer, De-ionized Water System, Jar testing equipment, Incubators, Water-baths, Refrigerators, Laminar Flow Hood, and UV Sterilizer. Bachelor’s degree required in the fields of chemistry, biology, water treatment or engineering, master’s degree preferred. 30 credits of Chemistry and 4 credits of Microbiology are required or ability to obtain these credits within 1 year. Ten years of full-time responsible experience in supervising individuals effectively and overseeing a drinking water quality laboratory. Massachusetts Grade 4 Full Treatment Plant Operator’s License that was earned through formal test or the ability to obtain a full grade 4T operator’s license within 1 year.
