Under the general direction of the Town Manager, the Sustainability Coordinator develops and administers programs and policy initiatives to advance Andover’s sustainability profile. Specifically, this position will develop a climate and sustainability action plan to address climate impacts, and sustainability for the town and residents. The Sustainability Coordinator will work closely with town committees and boards and will need a thorough knowledge of alternative energy program management, government, municipal and private energy trends.
Successful applicants will have a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences/studies/engineering/policy or related field, plus a minimum of five years of experience in program administration, sustainability planning, energy efficiency and/or grant writing. (Master’s degree is highly desirable but not necessary). Candidates should also have previous experience in community engagement, marketing or promotion and social media outreach, as well as with developing public education/communication programs related to sustainability. Salary range of $64k – $81k, commensurate with experience.
