Rockland, MA (17,500 pop.), is seeking a Town Accountant with an understanding of, and experience in, working within municipal government. This close-knit and vibrant community is located in Plymouth County, approximately 20 miles south of Boston. Rockland is led by a five-member Board of Selectmen, has an Open Town Meeting form of government, and a total general fund budget of approximately $68.3 million. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting (master’s degree in accounting preferred), five or more years of experience in municipal operations and finance, preferably at the administrative or supervisory level; or a combination of education and experience. MMAAA Certification is preferred within one year of appointment. Candidates should be highly ethical, team oriented, and able to build cooperative and collaborative relationships with appointed/elected officials and town employees. The successful candidate will receive an attractive compensation package including health and retirement plans and an annual salary of up to $95K, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
