Marion, MA (5,000 pop.), is seeking a strategic and proactive municipal management professional to serve as its next Town Administrator. This coastal community is located in southeastern Massachusetts, approximately 50 miles from Boston. Marion is led by a three-member Board of Selectmen, has an Open Town Meeting form of government, and a total general fund budget of approximately $22.87 million. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in public administration or related field (master’s degree preferred),experience as a municipal manager or assistant municipal manager, and demonstrated skills and abilities in municipal finance and budgeting, personnel administration, strategic planning, grant writing, municipal procurement, economic development and community planning, and intergovernmental relations. Candidates should have a proven record of leadership and strategic vision, and be team oriented and able to build cooperative and collaborative relationships with appointed/elected officials, citizens, and town employees. The successful candidate will receive an attractive compensation package including health and retirement plans and an annual salary of $125K+/-, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
