Town of Stow
The town of Stow (pop 7,100), governed by a Town Charter, seeks qualified applicants for the position of Town Administrator. The Town Administrator serves a five-person Board of Selectmen. As Chief Administrative and Operational Officer, the Town Administrator is responsible for developing and managing a $14,000,000 annual non-school municipal budget and serves as the town’s Chief Personnel, Fiscal and Procurement Officer. The Town Administrator manages the full range of day-to-day operations. The job description is contained in the Charter found on the town’s website.
Preferred candidates will possess a master’s degree in public administration or related field; will possess five or more years of senior management experience; will possess comprehensive management skills and applicable in-depth working knowledge; will show a record of sustained success negotiating and managing employee union contracts; will possess excellent oral and written communication skills and as well as strong leadership abilities.
Beginning salary is negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Start date is expected to be on or about Sept. 1, 2020 which coincides with the retirement date of the current Town Administrator. There is no residency requirement.
