Stockbridge (2,000 pop.), is seeking a highly qualified Town Administrator with municipal managerial experience as well as strong finance, personnel, and project management skills. This Berkshire County community is the quintessential New England small town famous for its many cultural and arts attractions, natural beauty and located equidistant between Boston and NYC. Stockbridge is led by a three-member Board of Selectmen, has an Open Town Meeting form of government, and a total general fund budget of approximately $12.2 m. Preferred candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a field related to municipal management (master’s degree preferred), experience as a municipal manager or assistant municipal manager, and demonstrated skills and abilities in municipal finance and budgeting, human resources, strategic planning, grant writing, municipal procurement, economic development and community planning, and intergovernmental relations. Candidates should have a proven record of collaborative leadership and be innovative, team oriented, and able to build cooperative relationships with appointed/elected officials, citizen volunteers, and town employees. The successful candidate will receive an attractive compensation package including health and retirement plans and an annual salary range of $79,500 to $100,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
