Brookfield, MA (3,500 pop.) a small historic town located in Central Massachusetts is seeking a seasoned leader with strong financial management skills and a collaborative leadership style to serve as its first Town Administrator.
Brookfield is located along the Quaboag River 18 miles west of Worcester and 30 miles east/northeast of Springfield. Brookfield is an agricultural community that, while rooted in tradition, is building on the historic values of family, community, agriculture and commerce.
Brookfield’s local government is led by a three-member Board of Selectmen, with an open town meeting and a 2021 budget of $8.4 million including a total school budget of $4.9 million as part of the five town Tantasqua Regional School District.
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) in public administration or a related field. Experience as a Town Administrator is preferred while five years of experience managing a complex organization, preferably in a municipal setting, will be considered. The budgeted salary for the position is $75,000 +/- depending on qualifications. The successful candidate will receive an attractive compensation package including health and retirement plans.
