Town Assessor

The town of Dighton, known as a “small town with a big heart”, seeks qualified and experienced applicants to serve as Town Assessor as it plans for the upcoming retirement of the town’s current longtime assessor.

The position serves under the general direction of the Board of Assessors and is a key member of Dighton’s Financial Team. The Assessor has the responsibility for the professional, administrative, and supervisory work related to the valuation of all residential, industrial and commercial real estate and personal property within the town of Dighton in accordance with the Department of Revenue (DOR) regulations and related Massachusetts General Laws.

A bachelor’s degree and/or five years of real and personal property appraisal experience is required, as is completion Massachusetts Association of Assessing Officers (MAAO) Courses 101 and 200.
