Town of Northfield
Northfield, MA (pop. 3,000), a historic rural community in Franklin County, is seeking a seasoned, communicative, and collaborative municipal Town Economic and Development Planner. Northfield is primarily residential with a historic Main Street, business district, and recreational sites throughout town.
The successful candidate should possess a master’s degree in regional urban or community planning, public administration, economic development or related field and a minimum of two years of relevant experience or a bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years’ relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education. The successful candidate should possess demonstrated skills with municipal, economic development, communications, finance, grant writing, administration, intergovernmental relations, and preferably a general knowledge of small-town government operations, as well as high interpersonal skills and a strong belief in transparency, consensus building, and a team-oriented organizational approach.
Three-year contract, starting at $60,000-65,000 with a defined increase each year, commensurate with qualifications. Job description posted on the town website at northfieldma.gov.
