The town of Acton is seeking applicants for a Town Engineer position within the Department of Public Works Department. The candidate will help lead town efforts to complete over $800,000 in capital projects to build new sidewalks and improve our roadway infrastructure. The Town Engineer will help oversee the $15M public infrastructure project that will transform Kelley’s Corner in collaboration with MassDOT.

Minimum Entrance Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a minimum of seven years of work experience in civil engineering with at least five years of supervisory/managerial experience, including some exposure to project management, construction design, budgeting, and contract administration or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registration as a Professional Engineer in Massachusetts required within one year of hire date. Must be available to attend night meetings.

Preferred: Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor in Massachusetts. Project management experience. Work experience within a municipal public works environment. Master’s degree in management. Soil evaluator license

Salary: Depending on qualifications, approximately $100,000
