Administrative, technical and supervisory work in planning, organizing and directing staff and projects as assigned by the Director; serving as Senior Engineering Advisor to the Director and staff; all other related work as required. Bachelor of science degree in civil engineering; more than 10 years of progressively responsible work experience in a broad spectrum of engineering disciplines, six years of which should be in a supervisory capacity; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Massachusetts Professional Engineer certification required. Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering, and the materials, methods and techniques of public works related construction. Extensive technical knowledge and experience with relation to design, construction and inspection problems commonly encountered in connection with town engineering and surveying activities. Working knowledge of computer application related to engineering functions. Ability to plan, assign and supervise the work of subordinates performing varied functions related to public works engineering. Ability to meet and deal with others appropriately and effectively. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Proficiency in the use of computers including word processing, spreadsheets and database. $2,049.11 weekly + benefits.
