The town of Limestone, a jewel in the crown of Maine, is seeking applications for the Town Manager position. The town has a town meeting, town manager, select board form of government and has 27 employees and a five-member select board. The Select Board is seeking candidates with particular skills in public personnel management, employee facilitation and problem-solving, budgeting, grant writing, and economic development. The ideal candidate will work in all aspects of managing the day-to-day operations, devise policies at the request of the Select Board, and have experience working with other levels of government.

Limestone is ripe for the town manager to create and implement an economic development plan, and to coordinate with businesses, the Chamber, and the Limestone Development Foundation. Limestone has an active downtown, outlying businesses, and the physically largest redevelopment authority in Maine, Loring Commerce Centre, with infrastructure suitable for many businesses. As “a better place to live and work,” the prospective town manager will find a municipally owned campground on Trafton Lake, the Aroostook National Wildlife Refuge, a strong municipal government with its own police force and a locally managed K-8 school. It is also home to the renowned Maine School of Science and Mathematics.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in public or business administration or a related field and have a minimum of two years of experience working in the public sector. Salary range begins at $60,000 to $65,000 depending upon experience.
